Educational workshops for schools

Lorenzo Lotto and the Gallery of the Stuccoes

ADDRESSED TO
classes of the second cycle of primary school (III - IV - V) and the first two years of secondary school level I

WHERE
Jesi Art Gallery- Section of Ancient Art

DURATION
the workshop offers two 2 hour meetings. It is possible to have one meeting depending on the school’s needs

COST
€ 2,00 per child

The children will understand the works of the great Renaissance artist and explore the beautiful Gallery of the Stuccoes, in a process that aims to highlight the difference between simply "looking" at and '"observing" a work of art - be it painting, sculpture or architecture - to get to understand its value as a document of history, technology and the taste of a particular era.

The planned activities serve to get children to read works of art through an iconography approach, which helps them to observe and understand an image in its figurative, technical and narrative aspects. And this is the opportunity to introduce themes of iconography, noting that the possibility of recognising a character is given by the presence of an object, an animal, a particular clothing that allows you to avoid confusion. In addition to the iconographic aspect, the narrative aspect of the work of art is analysed, starting from the altarpiece of Saint Lucia by Lotto, a real historical document through images.

In the analysis of the complexity of each piece of art, the technical and material aspect is important: not only are the children helped to distinguish different materials and media in works of art (paintings on wood, canvas, clay sculptures, stuccoes, etc..) but also to retrace the steps leading the painter to the creation of the work of art, from drawing the outline of the design to the distribution of colours according to the choice of lighting for the scene. A final aspect, which is not at all secondary, is to familiarise the children with the museum, for it to be perceived as an open and welcoming space, offering knowledge and fun at the same time.

ABC
It is easy to understand beauty (if you know how to)

Amat Project to Refresh!

The project stems from the need to recover the fundamental experiences of the arts - the ABC, in fact - proposing them to the younger generations as an antidote to a society dominated by confusion and fragility. Hence the title, which refers to the first instrument of knowledge available to children: the ABC book of elementary education for learning to read and write. The project involves the construction of various activities for the promotion of fundamental knowledge, which were identified among the apexes that human genius was able to create in the arts. Symbolically linked to some letters of the alphabet, they go on to make a real manual dedicated to "beauty", where each letter corresponds to a training proposal conceived and cared for by professionals in each sector. The result is a curious ' menu ' consisting of shows - conferences, meetings, visits and tours, as follows:
