1. THE BEAUTIFUL STORY
The journey of the Holy House.
The children will listen to the story of the adventurous journey of the Holy House, from Nazareth to Loreto, through direct observation of works depicting the angelic translation of Menzocchi, Tiepolo, Arcuccio, Foschi, to contemporary Sassu, Villages and Cascella. The operator will help children express their feelings and stimulate their imagination. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Holy House inside the Sanctuary of Loreto.
2. IN SEARCH OF THE TREASURE OF LORETO
Gifts offered to the Virgin of Loreto over the centuries. Children will discover the history and events of the Treasure of the Holy House of Loreto. The course is divided into two stages: starting with the visit of the Hall of the Treasure or the Pomarancio, specially designed to protect the gifts that the pilgrims of every era gave the Virgin Mary as a sign of gratitude for graces received, to then continue with the analysis of precious objects still preserved in the Museum.
3. LORENZO AND US
Small steps towards the art of the great Venetian painter.
Presentation of the life of Lorenzo Lotto and history of art through the analysis of the works of the painter for Loreto, now preserved in the Museum of the Ancient Treasure. By observing the paintings you can read the visual codes of the works of art: the use of colours, the gestures, the look of the characters represented and symbols hidden in the works for Loreto by the artist. The itinerary also includes a visit to the Chapel of the Old Choir, today the Spanish Chapel, where the paintings of the Venetian painter were once exhibited.
4. THE BEAUTY OF CREATION AND ART
The landscape and its artistic representation.
To grasp the beauty of the natural landscape through direct observation of nature and the surrounding area, both through their artistic representations in the works of art housed at the Museum, particularly in the tapestries.
The course is divided into two phases. To start there will be the observation of the landscape around the town of Loreto from scenic areas of Porta Marina and Via Sisto V. Then we analyse the paintings of the artists who represented the centuries and the landscape of Loreto and its territory.
5. JOURNALIST FOR A DAY
Reporter at the Museum.
The works contained in the Apostolic Palace are traces and evidence of the past and the passage of important artists who have contributed to the wealth of the heritage of the town of Loreto. The children will become reporters for the day: through closely guided questions and interviews they will meet and get to know these characters, who will be brought back to life. The evidence collected will be used for the preparation of a newspaper article that will tell the history of the Sanctuary of Loreto and that will contain information that most stimulated the imagination of the children.
1. DETECTIVE AT THE MUSEUM
Let’s solve the riddle inside the Museum.
By analysing the symbols and iconography children, led by the operator, will become little detectives in search of the characters represented in the works contained in the Apostolic Palace. Through puzzles children will be able to solve the mysterious meanings of works of art.
2. FOREIGNERS … AMONG THE ANGELS!
A journey through the iconography of Loreto.
The museum’s operator will lead the young protagonists in the rooms where some paintings of the Translation of the Holy House, illustrating the story, are kept. Children will learn to recognise, among others, the " Lauretani angels " and recreate their own angelic translation, thanks to the support of some provided images.
3. DISCOVERING LORENZO LOTTO
Journey into the life and art of the famous painter.
Loreto has a special significance in the life of Lorenzo Lotto, not only for the number of works that are preserved here, but because it was for the Venetian artist a "safe haven" until the end of his days. Guided by the operator, the children will be introduced to the work of Lotto and come to understand the coded messages of famous paintings stored in dedicated rooms.
4. ENRICO MATTENS AND HIS MASTERPIECES
Exploring the tapestry of Loreto.
The tapestries were manufactured, hand-woven with threads of wool, silk, gold and silver that were used in ancient times to adorn the walls of large rooms. Enrico Mattens made Lauretani tapestries in Brussels inspired by the paperboards for the tapestries that Raphael used for the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
Let's find out what a tapestry is and how to make one!
